Canadian Passport Photo requirements

Canadian passport photo requirements include: submitting 2 identical and unaltered photos with each passport application, taken by a commercial photographer or studio, no more than 6 months before application, meet the size specifications of 50mm wide by 70mm high with a facial height between 31mm and 36mm, clear, sharp, in focus with uniform lighting, no shadows, glare or flash reflections, a neutral facial expression with eyes open and looking straight at the camera, not smiling or frowning, and showing the applicant’s current appearance and posture with a plain white or light-coloured background. Glasses are allowed as long as there is no glare on the lenses, hats or head coverings worn daily for religious beliefs or medical reasons are allowed as long as the full face is visible and there are no shadows, and a wheelchair can be included with a white blanket behind the head. Additionally, the back of one photo must have the date and studio information written or stamped by the photographer and signed by a guarantor.
